Tasks

The Department of Forest Protection surveys the effects of biotic, abiotic, and anthropogenic damage factors on forests and elaborates relevant control strategies.

Information and advisory services for forest companies, forest authorities and private persons are essential elements of forest protection.

Items of great importance to forest protection include:

  • Damage due to storm, snow, hail and frost
  • Damage due to insect pests
  • Damage by game and forest pasture
  • Anthropogenic damage
  • Air pollution
  • Fungal diseases

Furthermore, the Department of Forest Protection takes over legal tasks for the protection of our forest ecosystems within the scope of the National Plant Protection Service.
