Activities of the Federal Forest Office |
The Federal Forest Office is responsible for the Execution of the Federal Forest Act on Reproductive Material and the Federal Act on Plant Protection (Official Plant Protection Service for Forest Plants and Forest Products), taking into account the needs of society and forest practice. In this sense, it supports the bodies of the Federal Republic in their legally binding and politically required tasks in the areas of forest, catchment basins, protection against natural hazards, enhancement of biodiversity and landscape development.
The Federal Research and Training Centre for Forests, Natural Hazards and Landscape (BFW) supports the Federal Forest Office in the implementation of these tasks providing the necessary resources.
