Mainly on humid sites on Blue spruces as well as on Norway spruces very common, leading to growth anomalies following repeated attacks; in Christmas tree production economic loss.

Control
| |
Removal of infected buds, thinning of the stand (aeriation!), mawing of the understorey (grass); use of fungicides (copper compounds) during budburst (see Official Register of Plant Protection)
