Nutrient deficiency | deutsch

Symptoms    Discoloration, deformation and necroses on leaves or needles. Nitrogen-deficiency: light green leaves/needles, reduced in size; Manganese deficiency: yellow-green leaves/needles, partly browning, yellow interveinal necroses; Kali deficiency: chlorosis extending from the rim of the leaf; Phosphonate deficiency: violet-red to blue-grey discoloration; Iron deficiency: yellow leaves or yellow-white interveinal necroses with sharply delimited green veins.
Impact    Deficiency of one or more nutrients (also inbalances of nutrients may lead to deficiency of single nutrients). Susceptibility to diseases increased, stunted growth.
Further information: the BFW operates an Austria-wide bio-monitoring for Norway spruces and pines (ca. 1500 trees/year) to assess the nutrient supply (Bioindikatornetz).
Control    Special fertilisation following analysis of nutrients in leaves/needles or/and the soil.
