Excrescences of lenticels – black spots on the stem | deutsch

Symptoms    Black spots, mostly a few cm in size, remaining as a brown powder on the finger.
Impact    Mass development of lenticels (cork cells) occurs with many tree species, the cells turn brown to black on the bark surface and become powdery. High humidity or extensive water supply induce the production of the lenticels.
Control    None necessary, since there is no damage
Hosts   Poplar;
Affected plant parts    Stem;
