Luxurious feeding (holes, scraping) on the lower needle surface of firs or irregular feeding from the rim on spruce needles; the needles turn red and become curled; on Taxus feeding from the rim in form of small „bays“

Impact

Even intense damage doesn't endanger the plants, since, especially with Phyllobius, only the youngest needles are affected; repeated damage may lead to loss of increment; in Christmas tree production more important.

Control
| |
Removal of the beetles, use of insecticides, as soon as the first damage by the imagos are discovered (see official register of Plant Protection)
