In mid summer development of leaf spots strongly resembling those by Apiognomonia errabunda: roundish-oval to irregularly lobate, sometimes angular, spread over the whole leaf surface, light brown with sharp or diffuse darkbrown border; size varying between ca. 1mm and 1 cm, spots may flow together to bigger brown areas; premature drop of leaves up to now rare; possibilities of error: Apiognomonia-Beech Anthracnose (symptoms earlier in the season!) or at most spots of abiotic origin or sucking damage by insects.
